Mandee Currie
Mandee holds an MS in Mental Health Counseling and a BS in Legal Studies. This unique combination, along with extensive experience, allows her to think critically and analyze issues in ways that allow for solutions and real-life strategies which may have been overlooked in the past. If you truly want to see change, are ready to take the steps and do the work, we can and will put you on that path.
She is a straightforward, solution-oriented, sex positive, and kink knowledgeable therapist, with an open mind and a propensity for observation without judgment. She provides a relaxed atmosphere, a safe space, and a non-judgmental approach. Utilizing evidence-based practices and an eclectic combination of modalities, she listens objectively, educates as needed, and supports her clients to live the life they strive for, by learning to implement what they are working on in their daily lives.
She has both life and work experience, including many populations and circumstances, as well as experience working with individuals who are active in alternative lifestyles, those struggling with LGBTQ+, gender identity, abuse, trauma, PTSD, addiction, depression, anxiety, conflicts in the family, parenting concerns, co-parenting, and chronic stress related illness.
This is generally where a credentialed, licensed professionals would throw in a number of mental health buzzwords to elicit a certain amount of trust, by demonstrating their superior vocabulary. However, this isn't her first rodeo. However, she has worked in many settings where “how it’s done” simply isn’t working (e.g., court system, school system, community mental health programs, and addiction treatment, to name a few). She believes that life is hard, but we can tackle it together, laugh while we do it, and still see results. It will be delivered in her usual blunt, no-BS, style where her clients may be shocked, but know that they are loved and supported without question. Her life’s work isn't her degrees or her license - those were what the State of Florida said she had to do, in order to do what she was made to do - help. She jumped through the hoops because people deserve support and love and she's happy, willing, and able to provide it.
